The Becky Walker Scholarship Foundation was founded in memory of Becky Walker - our mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and teacher - who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2019. She was the science department head at Spoto High School in Riverview, FL, and held a deep passion for her students, so we decided to host an event in her honor and raise funds for 2 - $10,000 scholarships. After enormous success, we decided to repeat the event annually and continue to fund additional scholarships in years to come. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic and extra-curricular achievement, community service, and financial need.
Becky’s Bash for Education, our annual fundraising event, is a community party featuring music, food, and fun. Our third annual fundraiser will be held on Friday, October 27th 2023 from 7-11pm at Tabellas at Delaney Creek. Last year, at Raymond James Stadium, we had over 600 attendees. This year we expect 1000+. The proceeds from this event go towards the Becky Walker Scholarship Foundation’s mission of making higher education more accessible to those who need it most.
To honor the memory of Becky Walker — our mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend — by giving students opportunities to pursue their purpose and passions. We honor the achievements of students who demonstrate exceptional scholastic performance by helping them remove barriers to prosperity.
